Five Things To Remember On May 8
1. The Solemnity of the Ascension, a Holy Day of Obligation, is observed on Thursday in dioceses in ten states tomorrow, including Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, and Nebraska . Everywhere else in the US (as in most of Europe), it is transferred to this coming Sunday, which is the seventh Sunday of Easter.
2. Pope Francis had a General Audience today and Catholic News Service chronicled him greeting children and many others in the crowd in this video. It's a fun watch.
3. "The Delaware Senate passed an unjust bill that attempts to redefine marriage," said Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone of San Francisco, chairman of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops' Subcommittee for the Promotion and Defense of Marriage.
4. The Fortnight for Freedom takes place from June 21-July 4, 2013. See our Facebook event Page so you can stay up to date on the latest Fortnight for Freedom news.
5. God loves you.
