Five Things To Remember On Jan. 9



1. Archbishop Thomas G. Wenski of Miami, chairman of the U.S. bishops' Committee on Domestic Justice and Human Development, and Father Larry Snyder, president of Catholic Charities USA, in a letter Wednesday called on the US Senate to advance policies that promote decent work and just wages.

2. With the cold weather hitting much of the country, Catholic agencies continue to provide services for those in need.

3. Pope Francis continues to highlight the Catholic Church's concern for those in need, saying on Twitter, "Let us contemplate the humility of the Son of God born into poverty. Let us imitate him by sharing with those who are weak."
