Five Things To Remember On Feb. 14

1. Lent has begun and the USCCB website has created a page full of daily resources to help people better understand the Lenten season.

2. Jeannine Marino, assistant director of the USCCB Secretariat on Evangelization and Catechesis, offers a blog on how prayer can bring a person closer to Jesus during Lent.

3. Cardinal Edwin F. O’Brien, the former Archbishop of Baltimore who was made a cardinal a year ago and is now Grand Master of the Knights of the Holy Sepulcher, spoke emotionally about Pope Benedict XVI’s decision to resign and what are some important qualities that his successor must have. Cardinal O’Brien will be among the College of Cardinals in the conclave to determine the next pope.

4. The Sacrament of Reconciliation can intimidate some people, but this video shows how peaceful the process can be.

5. God loves you.
