Five Things To Remember On Feb. 15

1. A comprehensive look back at the papacy of Pope Benedict XVI is available, along with guide for on the election of a new pope.

2. Parishioners will have questions and Papal transition materials for parishes are available in English and Spanish on the USCCB site. It includes background information on the transition in a bulletin insert format and a series of prayers.

3. Jill Rauh. Outreach Coordinator with the USCCB Department of Justice, Peace and Human Development, guest blogs for us today about almsgiving in Lent, saying: “Almsgiving helps meet physical needs and costs dollars, time and commitment. But, more important, it nurtures hope, and that is priceless.

4. On a related note, Catholics will be asked in the coming weeks how they will help “Jesus in Disguise,” with the upcoming Catholic Relief Services collection in parishes. The organization helps those in need around the globe.
