Five Things To Remember On June 11

1. Archbishop José H. Gomez of Los Angeles, chairman of the USCCB Committee on Migration, joined with other bishops to urge Congress to approve S. 744, the Border Security, Economic Opportunity, and Immigration Modernization Act, which would reform the nation's immigration system.

2. The Knights of Columbus, during the Fortnight for Freedom, are organizing a prayer vigil in Washington June 22 on the northeast side of the Capitol grounds.

3. During his homily today, Pope Francis said poverty and praise of God are the two signs of an evangelizing church.

4. Starting tomorrow, there will be just 40 days remaining until World Youth Day. The U.S. has the third largest pilgrim contingent in the world.
