Five Things To Remember On Aug. 6

1. The number of permanent deacons in the U.S. is on the rise, with 15,000 active in the country, according to a new study released. You can read about the life of deacons in three guest blogs today here, here and here.

2. Catholic Relief Services and the USCCB will have an online Catholics Confront Global Poverty discussion tomorrow! You can sign up for the discussion at: ow.ly/nG8OF

3. Justice for Immigrants is pushing for immigration reform in the U.S. and people can send a postcard to their U.S. representative to pass the reforms.

4. A cornerstone was dedicated late last week on a new $2.5 million Church in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti, made possible by donations by parishioners in the U.S. It's a wonderful story shared by Catholic News Service's blog as Haiti continues to rebuild after a devastating 2010 earthquake.

5. God loves you.
