Five Things To Remember July 7

1. Pope Francis met today at the Vatican with six survivor of clerical sexual abuse and delivered a powerful homily at Mass critical of both abusers and church leaders who did not respond adequately to reports of abuse made by family members and abuse victims themselves.

2. National Migration Conference in Washington, July 7-10, at Renaissance Hotel, will include urging Congressional leaders to address immigration reform and especially to look for humane solution to the challenge of children crossing the Mexican borer for sanctuary in the United States.

3. Pope urges ban on landmines.

4. Bishop Mark Seitz of El Paso, who has visited the nations where youth are driven by violence to seek refuge in the United States, spoke eloquently on ABC yesterday morning on this humanitarian crisis.
