Five Things to Remember on Jan. 16

1.      National Vocation Awareness Week began Sunday. This week we’ll have guest posts by young priests and religious. Here’s the third vocation post, by Sister Susan Rose Francois, a Sister of St. Joseph of Peace.

2.      Fight the flu with common sense – even at Mass. Here are general instructions the U.S.Bishops’ Office for Divine Worship offered for the Swine Flu a couple yearsago. The advice still stands.

3.      Look good in basic black? Auxiliary Bishop Daniel Thomas of Philadelphia talks about encouraging vocations in the following video posted on YouTube.

4.      Annual Catholic Social Ministry Gathering Feb. 10-13. Presenters include Cardinal Seán Patrick O'Malley, O.F.M. Cap.;  of Boston, Charles M. A. Clark, Ph.D., Professor of Economics and Senior Fellow, Vincentian Center for Church and Society, St. John's University; Father James Martin, S.J., Contributing Editor, America Magazine and David Brooks and Mark Shields, PBS Newshour.

5. God loves you.
